Move To Circulate Chi
She believes that by moving our bodies in any way, but especially in dance, we circulate the vital life force around our bodies. In various cultures this life force is called chi, taksu, or prana; Dr Sue knows it as light. In fact, ‘The Light’. You’ll be taught how to to download as much light as possible, to hold, and share; how to move and interact with this life energy both individually, in pairs, and in the group situation.
Susan is a Findhorn Press author, teaching the cutting edge scientific basis of our light heritage in terms of emissions of light photons from our DNA and hearts in her book “Medical To Mystical, Bring Light Into your Life’ . Please order this book online and read before the class begins.
She has also made a film, by an award winning cinematographer in Hong Kong, based on these theories, for those interested in further studies. 10 minutes of exercises daily to process emotions, such as grief or anger, so keeping you healthier!
By replacing one hour of lounging with one hour of any moderate exercise – that increases your respiratory rate—your metabolic rate is increased sevenfold. If you’re looking for weight loss, or to keep weight off, this is great news. This is new research, published in the British Medical Journal. Researchers followed fat molecules that were getting broken down to answer the question, ‘where does the flab go ?’ It get’s broken down by ‘oxidation.’
They found that when 10 kg of fat was oxidized, 8.4 kg were converted and excreted as carbon dioxide from the lungs, and 1.6 kg became water, to be excreted in urine.
In order for 10 kg of human fat to be oxidized, the researchers calculated that 29 kg of oxygen must be inhaled. This indicates the importance of exercise along with eating well to get large quantities of oxygen on board to break down the fat by ‘oxidation.’
Exercise has always been a cornerstone of integrative medicine!
Leptin Sensitivity
One of the things that will wreck even the best exercise plan is eating sugar, however small a quantity. It sends signals to the brain that reduce ‘leptin’ sensitivity. Leptin is the hormone that indicates to us when we are full, and the need to stop eating. Most people with weight issues have leptin and insulin resistance, and both are caused by refined sugars – in wine, cake, soda, chocolate, etc. Again, we see that diet is a part of integrative medicine, with us accepting that exercise and food are as important for our health as anything else.
The thing is, this increase in metabolic rate (and therefore the calories our body burns) will take place in the 24 hours after this type of aerobic exercise. Brisk walking, yoga, swimming and gym work will do this trick.
