Mindfulness & Meditation
Mindfulness is simply paying attention and noticing what is present (such as the breath!), on purpose, in the present moment and without judging it to be right or wrong. Meditation is a practice wherein you focus your attention on a particular thing such as a mantra or visualisation. There are many kinds of meditation of which mindfulness is one.
Benefits of regular practice include – better stress management, less emotional reactivity, increased ability to concentrate, more flexible thinking, positive outlook, better sports or academic performance, improved relationships and more! There is an ever increasing body of scientific research showing the beneficial effects of mindfulness on your life, including how the practice can actually change your brain.
Finding a practice that you understand and that works for your lifestyle and personality is crucial to long-term success. It is incredibly helpful to work 1:1 or in a small group with a practitioner to find your fit, build your habit and fine-tune the practice to serve you. Kate works with children, teens and adults.
