The facets of the brain that create a successful entrepreneur are often the facets that will lead that creative, intuitive, right-brain thinker into trouble. Unfortunately, the flip side of “genius” is a predisposition for depression and when that happens, great ideas can simply slip away. However, forewarned is forearmed:
Use Scheduling For Your Benefit
Scheduling: To enjoy good health and happiness, doctors have long been recommending exercise and a healthy diet. The left-brain thinker might schedule time for healthy meals, or a session at the gym, however the entrepreneur will typically forget or run out of time as they allow their passion to envelop them.
Paying Attention To Nutrition Will Pay Off
For the entrepreneur, more than anyone else, it is key that they get their brain food. Research has shown that the brain of a genius does work differently, and does burn up more essential nutrients than a less creative brain.
What can you do? Speak to a nutritionist or naturopath about your diet and how to get the optimal amount of bio-available brain foods such as magnesium, essential fatty acids and B vitamins in your diet, even when you’re “on a roll”.
Get Support
Socialising: An entrepreneur is often isolated – not only in their way of thinking but physically as they will usually work at their dream on their own, without a network of support. Isolation can lead to anger, stress-related aches and pains and general depression.
What can you do? Be aware that professional help is sometimes a good idea “before you need it”. Counsellors and Psychologists can give you tips for dealing with frustration, lack of organization or stress.
