Anti-Aging Care And Doctor Visits

Posted on April 5, 2016 by Dr. Susan Jamieson in Health Improvement

Regular Doctor Visits Can Delay Signs Of AgingMany people resist visiting the doctor, but the truth is that doctor visits can help keep us well and catch developing issues early, particularly as we age.

In my holistic practice, general medicine is only part of what we do. We offer a full range of Hong Kong doctors and health practitioners in one Central location. The reason for that is that general practice tends to focus more on treatment of existing issues. When combined with complimentary holistic specialties, much more can be done in terms of prevention.

This becomes important when we want to address anti-aging. The goal is to stay vibrant, active and healthy, no matter how many years we’ve lived.

How Visiting Your Doctor Regularly Benefits You

Of course, we all need to see our doctor yearly for a general exam. If you have specific illnesses that need treatment, you’ll make an appointment more often. Your doctor will monitor your blood pressure, check your heart, and order specific tests as needed. Women will get regular breast examinations and a pelvic exam, usually with a pap smear annually. While none of this sounds terribly enticing, it becomes more attractive when you realize how many lives have been saved by this type of basic checkup.

Being Comfortable With Your Doctor

It’s important to find a doctor who will listen to you, let you ask questions, and explain your options respectfully. I like to think that in our practice we do better than most, because we are so focused on health for the entire person – body and mind.

Why Doctor Visits Can Make You Healthier

When you work in cooperation with your doctor to identify problems early, you can save a lot of grief in the long run. It’s easier to treat and resolve issues when they are small. If you share information about your energy levels, your eating habits, and stressors in your life, your doctor can suggest lifestyle changes and/or dietary supplements that may be helpful for you.

Here’s a small example. Many people who suffer from migraines find that they get significant relief from adding magnesium and vitamin B2. There are some other options as well.

Looking Good and Feeling Good

They say “you’re as old as you feel”, so taking care of your health can definitely make you feel younger – and probably look younger as well. As we age we can begin to feel sluggish, as our bodies slow down the replacement of dying cells with living ones. Our metabolism can slow in several areas, and much of this can be addressed with vitamins, herbs, and sometimes medications.

With professional support, your nutrition can be optimized, injuries can be minimized, potential illnesses can be averted, and you can be sure you have support when life brings traumas.

Good Medical Care Reduces Your Risk

Your risk of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, stroke, kidney disease and more can be reduced through by skilled doctors and therapists. Even dementia and Alzheimer’s risk can be reduced. Unfortunately, many people don’t seek medical advice until it is too late.

In my practice, we focus on keeping you in good health and doing our utmost to prevent issues that will spoil your quality of life in the long term. Regular doctor visits help you feel and look younger and more vibrant. If you’re looking for a doctor in Hong Kong, please call us today at (+852) 2523 8044.
